Nancy Stutts, Ph.D, Director

Dr. Stutts came to Virginia Commonwealth University in January 2007, and holds a faculty appointment in the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs, which includes teaching, research and serving as the director of ConnectRichmond. From 1998 to 2006, she was an associate faculty member in the University of Richmond’s Jepson School, where she ran a community-based research initiative among four area universities and taught courses in leadership studies. Her work with nonprofit organizations spans some 20 years, where she largely worked to research, plan and develop new initiatives.

ConnectRichmond, the knowledge and communications network Dr. Stutts founded, was launched in November, 2001 and she earned a Ph.D. in public policy from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2002. Her research is community-based and related to her interests in philanthropy, community leadership and social change.
